Memes, Quizzes, and New Music [Gift]

I thought I was going to get Bill Gates like she had; I got cutie-patootie Jason Bateman. I so totally agree with that. I remember crushing hard on Bateman on Silver Spoons -- gawd, I had so many crushes on that show. From Schroeder, to Bateman, to Ms. Erin Gray (ever since Buck Rogers, dammit), and even the dad. And then Alonso...! That show was Crush-Heaven!
So... here's a treat for you:
Here's that big meme that went around last week. I was tagged by
ceirdwenfc (sorry it took so long to answer). I won't be tagging anyone, because I think everyone's done it who's gonna.
1. How has LJ changed your life?
It hasn't. It's expanded my world, certainly... but I haven't really changed at all. I guess it pushes me to read more... and write more... but that's it.
2. What do you do before bedtime?
Ride the stationary bike for 20-30 minutes and check my email one last time.
3. What will your dream wedding be like?
Hawaii... sunset... the man o' my dreams... family and friends...
4. What is the city of your dreams and why?
Berlin, because I've never really been there for an extended time, San Diego, and Montreal. I got to Dj a warehouse party 1999NYE in Montreal. It snowed like a mother-fucker, but unlike Indy, the city chugged along and didn't shut down. They knew how to handle their winter. If I move to any city that still has winters, it'll be Montreal.
5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
An introverted extrovert.
6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
If we're talking romantically, I don't believe in loving someone who doesn't love you. I don't believe it's really possible.
7. Do you trust easily?
No
8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
I might remain friends with the person, but I would never go after someone else's man. Too much bad karma.
9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
My job situation just before I got the Wellpoint/Anthem job; and my grandmother dying earlier this year. I do believe that history will consider my lifetime as the beginning of the Fall of America -- and that saddens me.
10. What is your best quality?
Funny... mostly always 'up-for-it'... and loyal. Yeah, that's three... so I guess add 'rule-breaking-when-appropriate' to that list.
11. Is being tagged fun?
Yeah, when I know I've been tagged. I seem to miss it more than see it.
12. How do you see yourself?
[ibid. 5 & 10]
13. Who are currently the most important people to you?
My mom.
14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
She's certainly considerate: she PM'd me to tell me that she had tagged me.
15. Would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?
Probably single-and-rich, to be quite honest. I can fuck my friends, I expect.
16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
Two
17. What's better to give or to receive?
Er... what are we talking about here? ;-)
18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
Is that possible? I'd make them KY-Wrestle, like Luke Wilson did... hopefully, they both have his body, too.
19: Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for $10,000,000?
Hell fuckin' yeah. 10-million? Are you kidding me? You could tack-off 2 zeroes and I'd do it.
20: What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite gender?
Er... I dunno.
So that's it... the boring ol' Gabe Answers.
[Music Gift]
Yet again I wanted to show you guys another one of my fave bands, Sweden's Radio Dept.. They're of the shoegazing indie pop ilk, also a bit on the twee-pop kick, using the Wall Of Sound gimmick most of the time. The singer's voice is soothing and calm and sweet -- hence the 'twee' moniker -- and if you're looking for less-aggressive sorts of music, you can hardly do better than Radio Dept..Two albums released but plenty of EPs, one of my fave releases of theirs is Pulling Our Weight. Here's the video for the song of the same name.
You can also check out their LJ comm, set up by fans I think:
theradiodept. In the meantime, here's the Pulling Our Weight EP.
1. Pulling Our Weight
2. We Climb the Wired Fences
3. I Don't Need Love, I Got My Band <-- I love this title, despite the title really needing a semi-colon, not comma.
4. Someone Else
5. The City Limit
I think a lot of you will enjoy this. It's not 'new' per se. Their last album was released in 2006, and Pulling Our Weight was released in 2003. Still, give it a shot. Check out the video. As always: If you like it, download the EP. And if you like the EP a lot, buy it.
That's about it for today... unless I remember something. Oh, and a big 'hello' to all my new friends, undoubtedly from my appearance (so to speak) on Cam and Candi's Dan-Tracking show.
