Miscellany Post 1.02 [Things To Take on Your Hotel Self-Exile, 8Teen, Battlestar Galactica S:4]
Why... Oh, Why!... do I like watching 8Teen?!?! It's not like I had boring high school years. And I can't say they were the funnest, because my Having Fun quotient only increases as my Eras come and go. My Rave-Day era still counts as my most fun. So I don't know I find 8Teen so fun. But I do! I can't say that it's a new 'fandom'... but I'll be buying the DVDs if they are ever released.
Self-Exile.
Well, I'm at the hotel. I'm staying in an Extended Stay America. Why? Well, because I'm staying until Monday morning, when I'll be leaving straight to work. I didn't really want to do expensive room service at a hotel, nor did I want to eat Fast Food all the time. If I went back home, it would have to be for an emergency of some sort. So... a place where I can
I check in to a room that looks remarkably like the one pictured--I'm sure they all look like this--at approximately 2:35pm this afternoon and went back home after I took a look at the room and took stock of what I needed to bring with me. So, I present to you my learnings.
Things You'll Need During Your Writer's Self-Exile
[Yes, even if you're staying at an Extended Stay America]
( Things to Take and Things to Not Take... )
Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica has been playing rather non-stop since I've been here, tho' I haven't really been paying attention. I do like how they've dropped the post-9/11 Fear-of-the-enemy-within schtick but I don't know how I feel about the whole war being fought between Man who believes in multiple gods and Machine who believe in one and wants to 'save' Man. I'll have to revisit some episodes, tho', because I'm missing more than I'm catching. [But that's a good thing, considering the reason I'm here in the first place!]
Well, I'm gonna get off this thing—er, well... the internet, at least. Will check back in [pun meant] tomorrow! It's back to work for me!!!!
Big Gay Footnotes:
* You could play movies on your lappie, probably, but since I'll be 'working', I don't want to be flipping back and forth between windows. Dedicated machines for dedicated work, as they saying goes. [No, it doesn't—but it should!]
** Ditto.
